Happy new year - Open calls - Upcoming events

What to expect from 2023

Dear DIM members,

Happy New Year! On behalf of the ComEx, we wish you an exciting 2023, full of discoveries and scientific fulfillment.

The start of the year is very active for our team! The first grant calls are open (or about to), collaborations for exciting events are ongoing, and we can’t wait to share all of this with you!

Very importantly, please forward this email to your colleagues and especially to your young lab members. Many opportunities that we are sharing are specifically aimed at young researchers, so we’d love for them to read this and click the button below to subscribe!

Calls & grants

Call for 3 postdoc positions

The first wave of recruitment on DIM founding is open! 3 postdoc positions for two years will be available for projects in the field of synthetic biology which will start a collaboration between two academic research teams from the Region Ile de France. Start-ups and companies, ideally from the Ile de France region, can also be associated with the project, as well as additional teams from outside Ile-de-France, but won’t be funded. More info on the application platform: https://bioconvs2023-postdoc.sciencescall.org

Paris Région PhD fellowships (PRPhD)

In order to foster the development of regional excellence in the digital and computational domain, the Ile-de-France Region opens a call for PhD fellowships (PRPhD) on projects around data or digital innovation. Among the most relevant constraints, the project must bring together a research lab and a company, and it must cover thematics related to the active DIMs or QIMs.

The call is open until March 23rd, 2023, and the relevant DIM will be in charge of the scientific evaluation of the projects. For more information, click here.

i-PhD: call for innovation and webinars

In the context of the Deeptech Plan, BPI France together with the French government opened a call for projects, i-PhD, aimed at funding PhD students and young researchers who want to start a company based on their research results. The call is open until March 30th. In the context of this call, a webinar series titled “La boîte à questions i-PhD” is open to all who are interested in the following topics, candidates or not (please follow the links to register for free) :

  1. La boîte à questions i-PhD #2 : Comment se rémunérer quand on lance une startup Deeptech ? February 14th, 16h

BioConvS sponsors your attendance to the Congrès France Bioproduction

The 7th edition of the France Bioproduction Congress will be held on April 5&6 2023 in Tours. The DIM BioconvS wants to give its academic participants the opportunity to attend the conference for free!

We will sponsor up to 10 tickets to attend the conference to DIM members with proven motivation to attend. Early career researchers (PhD students and postdocs) are especially encouraged to apply. Paris Région fellowship Program (PRfP)

As you might already know from our previous communication, the Région Ile-de-France is organizing a catalyzing event to put in contact research labs and private partners. The event will take place on February 15th in the Auditorium of the Région at Saint-Ouen; four different DIMs (AI4IDF, MaTERre, BioconvS, PAMIR) were invited to pitch 3 projects each during the event. BioConvS selected 5 projects to present (see full program here), but you can still register to attend the event as an auditor.
